Hello Class of 2019-2020 Below are some things you may want to know about our class this year and how to be ready for the first day!
*First Day of School- Wednesday, August 28, 2019
*Currently, we have 24 students enrolled in our class.
*Expectation Night is Monday, August 26 at 6PM in room 224. Meeting with Mrs. Hoye begins at 5:30PM
*It is expected that students have read over the summer. The summer reading program assignment is due the first week of school. Twenty minutes a day is the goal. Partner reading and reading aloud is preferred. This is a great bonding experience for both child and parent. Remember, parents are the most important influence on a child's education!
*It is expected that each student is able to read 97 words per minute in September-fluently-
*It is expected that each student has mastered their addition & subtraction facts in second grade. Please continue to practice. Xtramath.org is a terrific program to practice at home. We use it in school as well. We will master the multiplication facts by the end of third grade.
Please explore the webpage. I will some videos that I used last year on this page to let you see what we might be covering and to show you that I will put instructional videos to help parents with helping their child at home with homework.
* The page for Remind- Please wait until our Expectation Night to set up. Briefly, this is a way that parents may message me without giving out my personal phone number. I have used it for a number of years. It is a great quick way to communicate with each other. I will explain more on August 26.
Don't hesitate to contact me via email [email protected]. I will be checking my email periodically over the summer.
I have also included the School Calendar. Please review. Thank you.
